Liturgical Ministries

We are now able to have Altar Servers serve during Mass in a limited function.  Please contact Deacon Joe if you are interested in this ministry.

If your child is in the 4th grade or above and would like to serve when permitted, please contact the Parish Office at 717-653-4903.

We are again able to have Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion during Mass.  Please contact Deacon Joe if you are interested in this ministry.

The extraordinary ministers are individuals who are given the privilege of assisting with the distribution of Holy Communion when there are not enough priests or deacons available at any one liturgy. A person can choose what Masses they wish to be a minister at as well as how often they wish to minister. If desired, an extraordinary minister can be designated to do house calls, or bring the Eucharist to those of the parish who are not able to come to Mass. Diocesan training is available as well.

Once we get enough volunteers, schedules will be available in the bulletin, below on this website and from the Parish Office.

We are again able to have Greeters welcome people before Mass.  Please contact Deacon Joe if you are interested in this ministry.

Our parish greeters are individuals who are outgoing and energetic about making sure that each and every person who comes to mass feels welcome and accepted into our parish community regardless of if they are a visitor, a new parishioner, or a life long parishioner, these individuals will greet them all, after all, we never know when we may be entertaining angels...

The ushers of Mary Mother of the Church are a group of confident individuals who are vital to making sure all the small aspects of the liturgy go according to plan. They take the collections, help to seat people, and help to keep the communion lines in an orderly fashion.

The lectors of Mary Mother of the Church are a group of devoted Catholics who are scheduled via the Parish office to pronounce the word of God during the weekend liturgies. A lector can specify  specific Mass(es) at which they prefer to serve, as well as how often they are available.
