Charismatic Prayer
This is a group of people who make the Charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit a part of their daily lives, and gather together at different events and prayer meetings to exercise these gifts together in a community. Look for more information on this after the life in the Spirit Seminar in November.

Cursillo
Cursillos in Christianity is a movement that, through a method of its own tries to, and through God's grace manages to; enable the essential realities of the Christian to come to life in the uniqueness, originality, and creativity of each person. In becoming aware of their potential and while accepting their limitations they exercise their freedom by their conviction, strengthen their will with their decision, to propitiate friendship in virtue of their constancy in both their personal and community life.

The Cursillo Movement consists of proclaiming the best news of the best reality: that God, in Christ, loves us. Communicated by the best means, which is friendship towards the best of each one, which is his being person and his capacity of Conviction, Decision, and Constancy.

And what needs to be emphasized today, now, and immediately in order to be on the cutting edge of today's debate is to facilitate and make possible for every person to encounter oneself always and absolutely essential in order to be able to encounter God and others.

If you wish to learn more about the Cursillo® Movement, please order "Cursillo - What is it?" (publication 719) from the on-line Cursillo® Bookstore or contact your Diocesan Cursillo® Movement Secretariat.

R.C.I.A
R.C.I.A stands for the "Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults." is the program by which those who are not Catholic but wish to join the Catholic faith are taught just exactly what the Catholic Church believes so they are able to know exactly what it is they are going to believe when they join the church.

Legion of Mary
WHAT IS IT?

The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church, with well over 3 million active members in almost every country of the world. It has been active in the United States since 1931, has been approved by the last 6 Popes, and was endorsed by the Second Vatican Council. The main purpose of the Legion of Mary is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service. Works include door-to-door evangelization, parishioner visitation, prison ministry, visitation of the sick or aged, crowd contact, religious education, visiting the newly baptized, Pilgrim Virgin Statue rotations, and meeting the other spiritual needs of the parish community. Legionaries are under the guidance of a spiritual director named by the pastor. The Legion is, in essence, an extension of the heart and hands of the pastor.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Members meet once a week for prayer, planning and discussion in a family setting. Then they do two hours of definite work each week in pairs and under the guidance of their spiritual director.

WHO CAN BELONG?

The Legion of Mary is open to all Catholics who:

Faithfully practice their religion;

Are animated by the desire to participate in the Church's apostolate through membership in the Legion;

Are prepared to fulfill each and every duty which active membership in the Legion involves
Parish Mission
Look here for info on our parish mission which happens each year, as well as a video which will have more information.
L.I.G.H.T
The ultimate goal of LIGHT is to enable attendees to reach a deeper love of Jesus Christ through His Church. In this regard, the participant should learn that the "fullness of this personal relationship" can be acheived through the Catholic Church( particularly in the Eucharist and other sacraments). A secondary goal is to enhance the knowledge of basic Catholic doctrine. Catholic doctrine will be shown to be clearly supported by sacred scripture, and also via oral/written traditions that were passed on from the apostles, early Church Fathers, and through an unbrocken succession of popes to the present day. Using this knowledge, the participant should come to a clear understanding that the fullness of truth is found in the Catholc Faith.
